    Mission
Eagle’s Nest Learning Center’s mission is to cultivate in boys a passion to know and live by Christian virtue. It also seeks to motivate and inspire them to excel academically, and to develop in them a sense of responsibility to self and others that will help transform their communities.

    Vision
Eagle’s Nest Learning Center ’s vision is to rebuild the foundation of education for young boys by establishing learning centers that provide tutoring, mentoring and character development in impoverished urban areas. Eagle’s Nest will help boys develop habits of hard work, strong ethics, and positive self-images to enable them to make the most of their God-given talents, to mature into upright men who will be instruments of renewal, breaking the cycle of poverty and violence that ensnare so many generations of young men in America ’s urban areas.

    History
In the mid 1980’s while working as a police officer, Eagle’s Nest founder George Duncan noticed that much of the unconstructiveness and trouble that young boys experienced could be avoided with early intervention. Little did Mr. Duncan know that a vision was birthed in his heart and would become his passion—“Building Boys.” This very vision lead Mr. Duncan on a quest, and through years of personal development including a career change and two college degrees, the opportunity for an all boys’ program presented itself.  In 1998 Mr. Duncan, a middle school teacher, noticed that many of his male students at the end of the day would hang around after class had been dismissed. This was a perfect chance to help and get involved in the lives of some young boys. This led to the creation of an all-male after school program called Boys on a Mission at the Mary Curley Middle School in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, aimed at supporting the academic, social, and moral development of adolescent males.
A huge success, the program inspired its participants to approach school as a mission. There was an overall increase in the completion of in-class assignments, homework and cooperation with teachers.  Meanwhile, disciplinary problems decreased dramatically. The school’s principal, parents, teachers, and students alike supported the program. Based on the impact and success of this program and gaining work experience in the capacity of site director and Program Director in other organizations, Mr. Duncan’s vision has become a reality in the development of Eagle’s Nest Learning Center .
