Selection Criteria

Eagle’s Nest Learning Center is open to boys in grades K-5. Eagle’s Nest Learning Center does not discriminate on the basis of religion or religious faith. However, faith plays an integral role in the lives of staff and volunteers.

Our program will target boys from low to moderate income families who have a strong interest in the education of their boys; the academic performance levels of the boys may vary.  Parents or guardians of children accepted in the program must be willing to provide a home environment conducive to learning at home as well as in school. Math and literacy specialists will provide parents with orientation and periodic workshops to support them as they try to help their child’s learning away from the program. In addition, parents are invited to participate in the program by sharing a skill or hobby. Parents will also be welcome to assist by attending field trips or other special activities sponsored by Eagle’s Nest.

As part of the application process, parents/guardians are required to interview with program staff.
